Skin Care Truths


  • Tanning beds are just an dangerous as the sun.  The department of health says UV rays from the sun and artificial tanning devices like tanning beds and lamps as carcinogens (cancer causing substances)
  • Female smokers are at a greater risk for developing wrinkles than male smokers
  • Sleep on you back!  If you sleep facedown on a pillow or on one side, your body weight will compress from the bedding and cause sleep creases, which are facial lines that appear when you get up in the morning and tend to deepen and persist over time
  •  Eat a balanced healthy diet. by choosing organic, fresh foods and by staying away from processed or fast foods.  Also, get enough essential fatty acids like omega 3 and omega 6 which helps with boosting the skin's barrier and keeping moisture in and irritants out.  Add foods with vitamin A like salmon, flax seed, and walnuts.
  •  Eat foods with vitamin A, like dark orange and dark green vegetables like spinach, kale, and broccoli, also add vitamin E to your diet, like almonds and sunflower oil
  • Eat antioxidant foods like blackberries, blueberries, and prunes to help protect your skin from free radicals
